Winter to Spring

Is it too early in the year to start thinking about spring and the warmer weather ahead? Short answer, no. Never. Now, it may not be shorts weather quite yet especially if you are located in those colder climates, but prepping for the awkward transition period from winter to spring weather may raise some questions especially when it comes to fashion and what to wear. Is it too early to start wearing spring colors? Are turtlenecks only a winter piece? Is it still too cold for open toed heels? If these questions seem like something you're probably going to start asking yourself in the next couple of months then keep reading. Below are 8 outfit ideas for how to transition your outfits from winter to spring without having to buy a whole new wardrobe; we call this mixing and matching the seasons.

1. LIGHTLY LAYERED

Luna Shacket

Layering doesn't just get to be part of winter fashion, especially when you have lighter layers to work with. Wearing a light shacket over a basic top that still can keep you warm if needed but not look like a full blow winter jacket will give you that in-between look that we are going for. Finish off with some open toed heels to really balance out the look if your climate allows for it!

2. POP OF COLOR

Adding fun spring colors to your outfit is the perfect way to ease into the season especially when the item is as versatile as a light layering shacket! This shacked could even be worn with shorts for a real spring look, but pairing it with leather like so will give you that somewhere in between look.

3. LAYER THE LEATHER

Typically we view vegan leather as more of a winter fabric, but why not cross it over into spring? You can easily do this by adding a leather layering piece to your fit. It will still keep you warm in those cooler temperatures, but when it starts to warm up you can always take it off and show off your cute sleeveless top, its the best to both worlds!

4. CUT IT OUT

Skirt Fit

Thin sweater look alike tops make for a great segue into the spring season especially when they show a little skin! They are not too heavy or bulky and make for a great transition piece especially when paired with lighter bottoms and white boots that feel like "springy" pieces.

5. CROPPED CUTS FOR THE WIN

These little cropped turtlenecks make for the easiest transition outfit! They still give that winter turtleneck sweater effect but are not as warm and show a little more skin. They make for an especially good piece when the color gives all the fresh season feels!

6. THE PERFECT COMBO

Turtleneck Top

Light long sleeve turtleneck bodysuit, distressed denim jeans, and open toed heels. The perfect combination to create a transitional outfit. It doesn't look too wintery but it also doesn't look to springy...enough said!

7. CRISS CROSSING SEASONS

Glenn Top

This top gives winter in the front and spring in the back, if you know what I mean. The neckline feels like winter but the back side and the fact it's sleeveless shows we are ready for warmer weather. Too cold to wear this alone? Throw a light shacket over. Want to make this feel more like spring? Throw on some open toed shoes! It's all about mixing and matching.

8. KEEP IT COOL IN CORDUROY

Keep it simple by pairing a basic staple top with a fun corduroy jacket! It's not too heavy and it's not to light, it makes the perfect in between layering piece to ease into spring. Depending on the top you wear underneath this outfit could be suited for cooler spring weather or warmer spring weather!
